Product Demonstrations at Wembley
There’s no doubt that the best way to learn about new plumbing and heating products is to see them in detail, if not to try them out for yourself.
For the first time, the PHEX Plumbing & Heating Exhibitions will be giving installers the chance to see in-depth demonstrations of the latest product technology. These regular demonstrations, running during both days of PHEX Wembley, will showcase the latest products available on the UK market.
Visitors will be able to see these products up close, examining the latest advancements and finding out how they can use them to make their working lives easier. Manufacturers from every market sector will be on hand to take you through their products, answering questions and giving advice on how best to sell these new features to your customers.

Knauf Drywall will be utilising their demonstration slot at PHEX 2012 to show how simple and fast it is to install Knauf Dry Floor Screed Panels, as a floating floor over a deck with UFH beneath and across joists with UFH over or between the joists.
Suitable for new build or refurbished residential and commercial buildings, Knauf Drywall’s flooring solutions offer many real advantages over traditional wet screeds and timber decks such as better stability, the speed and ease of installation, and higher quality. They create a robust and monolithic floor with excellent loading.
The gypsum fibreboards have an excellent thermal conductivity, so work well with underfloor heating systems – offering responsive heating at low running costs and with lower CO2 emissions.
Ferroli will be demonstrating just how easy it is to install and maintain the new Modena HE range of high efficiency condensing combi boilers.
Presented by engineers for engineers, this will be a hands-on chance to see in detail how the highly advanced technology of the Modena’s components work together to produce excellent flow rates whilst economising on energy consumption. We’ll be demonstrating how to remove and replace components, which are all very easily reached from the front panel, how the central flue can be easily fitted for replacement installations and how to correctly commission the boiler so that it adapts seamlessly to any system.
TPI will be demonstrating the features & benefits of the Flue Gas Analysers & Solar/Renewables Kits in addition to showcasing our wide range of products covering a vast array of applications.
There will be emphasis on product quality and the high level of continued support the engineer can expect if purchasing our products. More relevant will be the content explaining how the various legislation & standards (CPA1, BS7967 etc….) have impacted on the industry and the existing instruments and how these will continue to play a part in any future product developments. Finally we will be encouraging all visitors to our stand to ensure they are in with a chance of winning the product giveaway & other great Show Only Offers.

Switch onto digital showering technology and you'll switch onto a new world of installation simplicity. From across-the-board compatibility with virtually all domestic plumbing systems to being one of the best retrofit solutions around, the multiple advantages of digital showers such as Aqualisa's Visage and Quartz will have you wondering why you haven't given digital technology a whirl before.
However, if you'd like a little further guidance before 'going digital' then why not visit one of Aqualisa's product demos at PHEX? Experienced technical product trainers will give you the low-down on digital showering and bathing; guide you through various installation scenarios and be on hand to answer all your digital questions. And, for all attendees we will reward your interest with an unbeatable ‘Show deal’.
Everything you wanted to know about flue gas analysis, but were too afraid to ask…
From BS EN5039 to BS7967 from CP12 to CPA1, flue gas analysis and flue gas analysers can be overwhelming.
Choosing the correct analyser can be a difficult and time-consuming decision so 30 minutes spent with Kane International at their Product Demo will be time well spent. Kane aims to help you understand what you actually need an analyser for and then help you choose the correct analyser before giving a brief overview of how to use one to increase your earning potential.
Pegler Yorkshire will be demonstrating to visitors at this year’s PHEX exhibitions just how to save time and money! So, for installers looking for solutions that offer faster and easier pipework fitting these demonstrations are a must see.
Tectite Carbon, the latest jointing product to be launched by Pegler Yorkshire, is a completely heat-free system, designed for use in conjunction with carbon steel tube. The non-demountable fitting system is five times quicker to install than a traditional screwed steel installation. This innovative fitting boasts exceptional performance backed by a reliable system guarantee of up to 10 years when used with Pegler Yorkshire Carbon Steel System tube.
Tectite Carbon offers installers a faster, easier and more cost effective solution that benefits from high performance with a maximum pressure of up to 20 bar and operating temperatures of -24C up to 114C. The fittings also benefit from greater rigidity via a specially developed guide collar which assists with pipe alignment, they guarantee electrical continuity and are manufactured from galvanised carbon steel, which is light in weight, easy to install and designed for use with unvented closed circuit heating and chilled water services (closed loop). Compared to traditional screwed steel systems, Tectite Carbon provides up to 70% cost saving benefits.
Why should I power flush?
Many heating engineers see the adverts and chat on internet forums, and wonder why so many people seem to be pushing heating engineers to power flush heating systems, particularly when installing a new boiler to an old system. Is it all marketing hype, or are there good practical reasons for what has almost become an industry standard with its own mention in BS7593? Is it worth the expense of buying a pump? A Kamco expert (Professor PowerFlush?) will discuss the advantages of power flushing over ‘traditional’ ways of cleaning systems, and attendees are encouraged to ask any related questions that may have puzzled them.
Impey Showers will be demonstrating the concept behind the infamous Aqua-Dec floor former, including how wetrooms were traditionally created, the reasons behind the creation of the Aqua-Dec and how it aids the installation of a wetroom.
A step-by-step demonstration on installing a wetroom including choosing and installing the correct drainage, waterproofing and underfloor heating to create a luxury wetroom in any size room, upstairs or downstairs.
Also a quick overview of the Aqua-Dec Advance floor former and its revolutionary 360 degree drainage solution.
Anton Group welcome you to join them at 10.30am Wednesday 25th April 2012 at Demo Station One to review flue gas analysis and the Industry requirements that have transformed the way you operate.
Within the 30 minute demonstration will be an informative overview of who Anton Group are and the products which they offer, a guide to which British Standards are requesting the use of appropriate equipment and how Anton can assist you as an engineer in selecting the most suitable product for the future.
JG Speedfit will be demonstrating how to install underfloor heating and radiators combined with Smart Control technologies.
Since 2005, The Plumbing Academy has been successfully delivering City and Guilds accredited plumbing and gas courses for existing trades people requiring qualifications in the industry, and for people looking for a complete career change.
The Academy offers a comprehensive selection of Renewable Energy and ACS gas courses. Based in Edenbridge in Kent the training centre is conveniently located just south of the M25 and is 5 minutes from Edenbridge mainline station.
The new centre has capacity to train up to 500 candidates per year, which will help fulfil the region’s growing demand for energy-efficient products and installations.
With fuel prices and utility bills continuing to rise, alternative sources of energy are becoming ever more important. The increase in the use of Renewable Energy, coupled with new Government incentives, is proving to be a growing opportunity and source of income for the plumbing industry.
The Plumbing Academy offers courses in Solar, Ground & Air Source Heat Pump, Rainwater Harvesting, Energy Efficiency, Renewable Awareness, plus design and installation of Under-Floor Heating.
With purpose built workshops, the Renewable Energy short courses are preparing domestic plumbers and gas engineers for the future. Renewable Energy is no longer the idea of a space age home; it is a modern and effective way to combat growing energy bills.
Courses can be taken individually or as part of a package, and Gas Safe engineers can combine Renewable Energy training with their ACS assessments for CCN1, (CENWAT) CEN1, CPA1 and individual appliances.
